College dormitories and military barracks provide excellent opportunities for graywater recycling. The design of these facilities often minimizes the cost of additional collection piping. The widespread adoption of LEED certification by Universities and the US Military has spurred the inclusion of graywater reuse for irrigation and toilet flushing due to the high number of credits for one system. Our project experience has found significant differences between graywater generation rates and influent characteristics between academic and military housing.
